When talking about Design & usability , our university [AMA] strongly fails in the test and falls in a bad category [ websites that suck !].
Lets Begin from the base structure :
- Techs used : html , few JavaScript and flash .
- Whoever built this crap , it was ready made template , prolly template monster .
- Where are the Meta tags ?!!! you guys aren't serious are you ! 5-6 years since establishment and you still don’t have a proper Webby ?
- CSS is unknown to this site , in other words CSS wasn't used !
- What about Validation , why don’t you have a look your self !59 errors .http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amaiu.edu.bh
Now lets have a look at the touchy feely of the site:
- Buttons that doesn't work !
- Bad fonts and text alignment .

Readability contrast , poor readability ( white background and white text ! )

What a thumbnails !
Poor student interactivity , no news section , no forums or student community (they been hacked before due to cookies bug in phpbb forums) don’t ask me how I know this π , dam I lost my favorite snapshots of the hacked forums !
Message for the AMA site builder, Usability in few lines :
the content is worthwhile
- it is easy to find desired information within the site
- pages download quickly and there are not too many "clicks" between the front page and a target page
- the page is pleasantly, cleanly designed

By the way have you Seen the newer AMA website (Yes they made another one), it’s more craper than the one you have reviewed ( the designer needs to get more graphics classes ), is just me or firefox doesn’t work well with it, one advantage that they made online gardes ( WE Waited for 4 years for this feature )

I just want to let other people in other countries know that AMA in the Philippines has never been considered one of the best universities. It is actually considered one of the worst and may not even deserve the title of “university”. There has been a lot of complaints (some probably court cases) against this “institution”. well iam glad that someone pointed and still having his finger on, as long it is not middle finger we all can point mistakes and humongous unattended mistakes, well u work your butt all day long and your back hurts because u were studying for the past 6 hours till 4 in the morning (A.M), then during the so called exam someone is cheating or asking u to help him out, (well if i had a gun i wouldnt mind nailing a bullet in his head, fortunately that is only a dream), and what makes me mad that most of them they just sign the booklet and let them have the fun of HELPING-each other-OUT, the only department that runs smoothly is the accounting office where u pay and they print for you your subjects and then u go all the way form building to building to write down the exams timing and as well as picking your subjects for next semester,
i got nothign tosay except that they think arabs are stupid and have loads of money, trust me i lived in south-eastern asia and what i pay for two semesters, which is almost; BD1,760 pays a full year fees in a well respected and known university and which includes pocket money for 5 months.
in the end it is a neverending fairy-tale which ihope thati wake up and end it after 3 years from now, by the way my indian accent has improved and all thanks to our teachers.
